The 1N34A Germanium diode is a DO-7 glass capsule style diode and an old standby in electronics. Widely used for detecting the rectifying efficiency or for switching on a radio, TV or stereos. Perfect for your Crystal Radio or pedal effects for your guitar.
Note: These are NOT PN junction silicon type Diodes and ARE point contact germanium.

D9B are a Germanium diode originally manufactured by the USSR Soviet Union.
Characteristics are almost identical to the IN-34A. Ideal for Crystal Radios, general
AM/FM radio detection, and guitar pedal effects. The D9B has a forward current of up to 40mA, a forward voltage of approximately 0.27V to 0.45V, and a reverse voltage of about 10V. It is often used as a replacement for the 1N34A diode and features a DO-7 glass body with the anode indicated by a colored band.
